   Aqueon MiniBow Aquarium still going strong after 3 years
   I purchased MiniBow, 2.5 gal in 2021. It also comes in 1 & 5 gal, so make sure you order the correct size. In 3 years I have had 3 Betta fish, only 1 was caught near the filter. I average about 1 Betta a year before they die, due to me or life? The bowl is acrylic, and it still looks new, no scratches, so be careful how you clean. The black rim stand is plastic and holds the bowl very well. It’s the water weight that makes it durable. I have a small heater and only use solid deco stones. I noticed the painted stones start peeling and make the water look dirty. Last month after cleaning the filter stopped working. I called Aqueon to see if I could just replace the filter. The rep asked if I had cleaned the fan, nope, didn’t know there was a fan. He waited patiently & explained the filter could be disassembled to access the fan. He gave me directions and I found the fan and it was filthy. I cleaned the fan and filter has been running great for a few days. Time to get another Betta. I suggest if you have issues call Aqueon, the rep (sorry no name) was very helpful and patient. I hope this review helps. After 3 years I recommend the Aqueon MiniBow Aquarium for a small fish. Oh, the small hole at the top of tank is where I drop the food, instead of lifting the lid, never had a Betta jump out.

   Update: after taking the filter apart, I found a small turn dial that needed to be adjusted and then the filter started pumping water…it works after all.Aquarium tank is good but right from the start the power filter will not pump the water making it useless.Have another setup just the same that works great. So….now to see if Amazon can replace the power filter.

   Gets the job done
   Really easy to set up, but the top is super annoying. The cord that feeds through the back for the filter/pump disrupts the cheap/lightweight lid and it shifts around really easily. That being said, for the price, this tank is pretty great. This is the 2.5 gallon and will be perfect for a couple tiny fish or one beta.

   Arrived cracked/ great customer service
   Eta: customer immediately sent a replacement. No charge, no hassle. Very happy with that response.I was excited to receive my fish tank. After I got it set up I noticed it was dripping. Thankfully I had not moved my fish in yet because I had to lift the tank off the base to find the corner cracked. The box it arrived in did not appear damaged in anyway but there was not much padding in it even if it had been dropped. The “special packaging” might mean it was dropped before it was shipped. My pump did not extend out to the side to drain I had to turn it to to drain it from the back, not a huge deal but it’s kind of heavy and I was prepared to drain it from the side. I had purchased live plants for my beta since I had the room and the drain.. I was so excited. It did look nice, however, I didn’t even get to putting the lid on and lighting it all up before draining it back out.

   My Betta.. PLEASE, read!
   We love the tank, so does “Rainbow Red” which is what we named our female Betta:) She loves her tank. They love a lot of places to hide and DON’T USE PLASTIC DECOR!! Always use SILK BETTA DECOR. It functions perfectly. The filter is great! We use black water sponges to put over the bottom of the filter, just so Rainbow Red never gets stuck. Very quiet which is great!It’s always clean. I do routine changes to our tank. I use QUICK START to instantly start your tanks cycle. You can add your little fish right back in. I always clean the gravel! Never use soap and always rinse new tank decor. READ THE REVIEWS.I added in the pictures everything I use in my tank! If you’re interested in getting a Betta fish do your research. They need—— a tank with filter and lights, heater to keep the water perfect for what they like! 78-81 is what Betta’s are best in. The can’t live in cold water. When your Betta is happy you know it. Every morning I wake up she comes to say Hi and that she is hungry! Happy Betta’s swim and have energy.Always turn the lights off on the tank when you go to bed. They’re like humans. They sleep in the dark. You want your tank in a very natural lightened area. We put ours in the kitchen. She gets all the light she needs. It helps them and if you have live aquarium plants!I didn’t do my research before getting our first Betta and we lost our first Betta fish because I didn’t know the correct way to take care of one. The gentleman at the pet store acted like he knew everything about Betta’s, but he was way off! They HAVE TO HAVE at least a FIVE GALLON tank minimum, because they like swimming back-and-forth and having the room. They don’t thrive in tiny little tanks.I highly suggest getting the Freshwater Master Testing Kit, because you’re able to test the ammonia, pH, nitrates, nitrites, and the high range pH levels which also is VERY IMPORTANT!! It’s a LIFESAVER so get it.They’re investments so you have to be serious about wanting one☺️

   The plastic fish aquarium arrived in a timely manner and was competitively priced but it was severely cracked upon arrival so it had to be returned. My granddaughter was very disappointed as the aquarium is small and cute.
